With fresh new covers and gripping new titles, Dusty Saddle Publishing will be re-releasing four GP Hutchinson Western novels on February 1, 2019.
The re-titled novels will be released as:
- Cimarron's Law (formerly Cimarron Jack's Real Wild West)
- High Plains Redemption (formerly A Bullet for the Bronc Buster)
- Reno's Reckoning (formerly The Reckoning)
- Reno Carrigan: Texas Lawman (formerly A Dead Amigo)
Citing sluggish sales for four novels that have consistently drawn high praise in reader reviews, Dusty Saddle has determined that many enthusiasts of Western fiction seem to have been overlooking the GP Hutchinson novels on account of titles that lacked punch and, in some cases, covers that readers weren't connecting with.
Speaking for Dusty Saddle, Publicist Nick Wale said, "Self-publishing and small-press publishing have been a mixed blessing. While anyone eager to try their hand at writing can easily do so (and we're thrilled about that), the market is now glutted with such a vast number of titles that readers can easily miss true gems due to the sheer volume of choices before them." He went on to say, "In response to the overwhelming number of newly published titles, readers seem to latch on to just a few writers they've found enjoyable in the past without trying out new authors and their works. While not new to Western fiction, Hutchinson is new to Dusty Saddle, and readers have somehow missed his hugely enjoyable novels."
GP Hutchinson's initial three Westerns (the Emmett Strong Western Series) were each award winners that attracted large numbers of readers right away. The books still maintain an excellent
fan following. Strong Convictions won the prestigious Western Fictioneers Peacemaker Award for Best First Western of 2015, while Strong Suspicions and Strong Ambitions took gold and silver medals respectively in the Westerns category of the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards.
"Dusty Saddle is thrilled to have signed Hutchinson," Wale said. "And they're excited about getting his captivating Westerns into readers' hands."
One thing Dusty Saddle wants to make abundantly clear is that Cimarron's Law, High Plains Redemption, Reno's Reckoning, and Reno Carrigan: Texas Lawman are not new novels in addition to the four previously released GP Hutchinson novels. These four titles do not represent new content, but rather the re-titling and re-release of Cimarron Jack's Real Wild West, A Bullet for the Bronc Buster, The Reckoning, and A Dead Amigo--the four GP Hutchinson novels Dusty Saddle Publishing has previously marketed. "It's simply about visibility," Wale said. "A writer of Hutchinson's caliber deserves the chance to be seen by Western fiction enthusiasts."
